Factory Acceptance Testing has now been successfully completed for another AMOB eMOB 225, ahead of delivery to Navantia UK and installation at Appledore shipyard in North Devon.
The FAT process gave the Navantia UK engineering team the opportunity to see the machine operating under production conditions and assess its bending performance, accuracy, and repeatability before shipment to the UK.
At 53 tonnes, the eMOB 225 is the largest fully electric tube bending machine in the AMOB range, designed for large-diameter and heavy-wall tube applications in sectors such as shipbuilding, defence, energy, and heavy industry.
Large Capacity Tube Bending with Fully Electric Control
During testing, the machine processed 219mm OD x 6.3mm wall carbon steel tube, demonstrating the control and consistency possible with fully electric servo-driven bending technology.
For heavy industrial bending applications, fully electric systems offer several advantages over traditional hydraulic machines, including:

Following completion of FAT, the machine is now being prepared for shipment to Appledore, where it will support large-scale fabrication work within the maritime and defence sectors.
Bringing high-capacity tube bending in-house allows manufacturers greater control over production scheduling, lead times, and component quality, particularly for complex heavy-duty pipework applications.
The installation also highlights the increasing demand for fully electric bending technology within industries where efficiency, repeatability, and process reliability are becoming increasingly important.
