Following a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at AMOB’s headquarters in Portugal earlier this year, AMOB UK is pleased to announce that the eMOB 150 is now fully installed and operational at Sigma’s facility in the United Kingdom.
Sigma is a global leader in aerospace component manufacturing and precision fluid power systems, supplying major aero-engine and airframe manufacturers worldwide. With the addition of the eMOB 150, Sigma has further strengthened its manufacturing capability, introducing advanced fully electric tube bending technology into its production environment.
Precision That Takes Flight
In aerospace manufacturing, where weight, space, and reliability are tightly controlled, tube bending processes must deliver consistent and predictable results.
The eMOB 150 has been selected to produce complex, large-diameter ducting and rigid fluid lines used in aerospace systems. These components must withstand demanding pressure and temperature conditions while maintaining strict dimensional tolerances.
Unlike hydraulic machines, which rely on fluid pressure systems, the fully electric eMOB series provides direct servo control of each axis. This allows precise positioning and accurate compensation for material spring-back, helping manufacturers achieve the repeatability required for aerospace production standards.
Elevating Manufacturing Standards at Sigma
The integration of the eMOB 150 supports Sigma’s focus on precision manufacturing, efficiency, and process control.
- Aerospace-Grade Quality
Fully electric operation eliminates the presence of hydraulic oil around the bending system, supporting clean manufacturing environments and high surface quality requirements.
- Energy Efficiency
AMOB’s “Power on Demand” technology means energy is only consumed when axes are moving, reducing overall power consumption compared with conventional hydraulic systems.
- Complex Geometries
Multi-stack tooling enables the production of complex tube geometries within a single setup, reducing changeover time and minimising the need for secondary operations.

Expert Insight: “A New Benchmark for Quality”
Technical Engineer Mário Ferreira, who led the installation and commissioning at Sigma’s facility, reflected on the project:
“After completing the FAT with the Sigma team in Portugal, it was great to see the machine arrive and begin production in the UK. Aerospace applications demand extremely consistent results, and the eMOB 150 is designed to deliver that level of control.
Watching it process large-diameter, thin-wall tubes smoothly and quietly shows the advantages of fully electric technology for high-precision manufacturing.”
This successful installation reinforces AMOB UK’s commitment to supporting the British aerospace supply chain with advanced tube bending technology, backed by local engineering expertise and technical support.
