Factory acceptance test for world leader in engineering, using a fully electric tube bending machine from AMOB’s eMOB range.
It’s almost the end of 2021 and the projects are showing no signs of slowing down any time soon! Every week, our team has been flat out with factory acceptance tests, deliveries and installations, commissions, and operator training.
The newest project sees our clients bending motorcycle sub frames in round tube, which is quite a common application of AMOB bending machines. Additionally, however, the same seven-stack machine is also designed to bend flat bar with in-cycle bending, punching, and shearing operations inbuilt. This flat bar operation is specifically designed for fabricating the ribcages of crash test dummies – a very unique application!
AMOB, as a group, is very proud to have adapted swiftly in the past two years. Having faced the obvious challenges on the global scale, it was necessary to offer alternatives when accepted norms weren’t possible. Because of this, and for the foreseeable future, AMOB UK are continuing to offer these options.
Two Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Case in point would be this most recent project. In total, two FAT (factory acceptance tests) were performed.
The first was a classic, in person, face to face visit. The customer was flown out to our manufacturing headquarters in Portugal, and spent a few days in AMOB’s factory. During this time, the customer is able to see the machine for themselves, amongst the impressive facility that created it. They’re able to understand the scale of the operation and that every aspect from design to fabrication is under one roof! Bends are performed and inspected in front of their own eyes.
The second of the two factory acceptance tests, and the less hands-on option, is virtual demonstration. During this process, the client team can log in to an online streaming factory acceptance test. The customer can ask the same questions and give feedback, but at a much safer distance! Additionally, this option can be appealing when time is at a premium and the luxury of travelling is not possible.
With both FAT’s completed and successfully signed off on, the next focus is the expedient delivery of the machine. This will take place before Christmas. From then, after a short break for the holidays, operator training will begin! Exciting times for both AMOB UK and our clients.
AMOB are very much looking forward to the coming few months, bringing the initial phase of the project to conclusion. This is not the end of the business relationship, however! The team is keen to guide our newest customers in their venture, and ensure their goals come to fruition!
