Why providing ongoing production support mission critical…

Whilst offering the best tube bending machines available in the world, AMOB also prides themselves on after-sales support. This support takes form in many ways, such as network connectivity issue resolution and remote support, but it also means in-person training, product upgrades, and much more. Wherever in the world the customer may be.

This training is completed by many members of the AMOB Group team. This includes both engineers from the manufacturing facility in Portugal, but also AMOB UK’s own engineering department. These teams of engineers spend many months of the year travelling the globe, servicing, training, upgrading, and providing ongoing support. After all, AMOB UK is not restrained to the United Kingdom!  

But why is ongoing, after sales production support so important?

Production support is so important because it ensures that products remain operational and meets the needs of end users. When a company invests in a product, in this case tube bending machinery, it is expected to function properly and provide the intended benefits to its users. However, issues can arise that prevent the product or service from working as expected. It is at this point that an expedient response network is essential.

Production support is responsible for addressing issues, and ensuring that the product continues to meet the needs of its users. This can include fixing breakdowns, addressing performance issues, providing technical assistance to users who are experiencing problems, or training new users.

Without an effective production support network, a product a customer has invested in can become unreliable, frustrating to use, and can even fail completely. This can result in lost revenue, decreased customer satisfaction, and damage to the reputation of both companies involved.

In addition, production support can also play a critical role in improving a product. By monitoring user feedback and identifying areas where the product can be improved, production support can help drive product development, benefiting both AMOB and its clients.

The importance of a robust production support team cannot be overstated, and is a core principle that AMOB understands acutely.

AMOB UK and Australia, January 2023.

In January 2023, a team of expert engineers from both AMOB UK and AMOB Portugal spent one month in Australia. During this time, the combined team visited over half a dozen sites and provided production support, training, servicing, and maintenance.

While most issues can be resolved remotely with AMOB machine’s network connectivity, some issues require a more hands on, or face to face approach. For example, while software updates can routinely be performed via an internet connection to the factory, machine maintenance cannot. The same can be said for operator training, where multiple hands-on demonstrations can be performed to all required operators.

During this month in Australia, the team visited many customers, such as Harrower Tube Bending, in Bendigo. The engineers also spent time training many new operators at BAE Systems Australia, in Melbourne during an uptick in production on their site.

When asked, Tom Wood, Managing Director of AMOB UK said, ‘It has been a pleasure to meet new clients, and catch up with existing customers alike, across the width of the entire country, plus Adelaide is currently 35°C during British winter!
