RMI Midlands bolster their fabrication capabilities with a brand-new CNC tube bender.
For over 25 years, RMI (Midlands) Ltd has been providing engineering, project management and installation for material handling, storage racking, mezzanine structures, and archive storage.
Recently, RMI expanded into fabrication, specialising in laser cutting, precision bending, CNC punching, welding, and powder coating. Amongst these new ventures was an AMOB CE-90-CNCR-3 tube bending machine. This machine, with the use of a supportive mandrel on the inside of the tube, will effectively bend up to 90mm OD tube. This will effectively give them the capabilities to bend handrail systems, forklift guards, and manufacture mezzanine barriers, among other things. Not only that, but the ability to bend up to 90mm allows RMI Midlands the ability to develop into currently unknown markets yet to be tapped.
As a stock-held machine, the project was completed notably fast. From the order being placed, through to completed delivery, the project was turned around within four weeks. From there, AMOB UK’s in-house team of Start-Up engineers proceeded to commission the machine, install safety barriers, and train the future operators of the machine.

LEVELS OF AUTOMATION IN AMOB MANDREL BENDERS:
Ø CN1 models control only the bend angle of the tube via NC automation. Operators of this machine are required to rotate and position the tube between bends, if necessary.
Ø CN2 models include NC bend angle operation and NC tube rotation. Operators of these machines are only required to position the tube between bends, if necessary.
Ø CN3 models include NC bend angle operation, NC tube rotation and NC positioning of the tube. Operators of these machines can run all steps from the control panel to produce a complete multi-bend part.
Ø CNC models include CNC bend angle operation, CNC tube rotation and CNC positioning of the tube. Operators of these machines run all steps with the press of a button to produce a complete multi-bend part, with the advantage of many more CNC features.
